What to Expect With a Chamber Ribbon Cutting or Groundbreaking

• ​Introduce your business to the public and fellow Chamber Members
• Announcement of the ribbon cutting or groundbreaking featured on the Lakeland Chamber’s website, community calendar, and newsletter
  
• Ribbon cutting or groundbreaking photo posted to Lakeland Chamber social media after the event.
• Option to have Thryve Media film your ribbon cutting for an additional fee.

The Lakeland Chamber Will...

• Bring the official ribbon and scissors or groundbreaking shovels.
• Invite Chamber Members, local elected officials, and community media outlets.
• Provide attendees a registration link for your event.
• List and promote your ribbon cutting on the Chamber’s website and social media. 

Preparing for a Ribbon Cutting or Groundbreaking

• Conduct a separate PR campaign.
• Have door prizes or other giveaways.
• Give free samples or discount services.
• Invite corporate staff, clients, and business partners. 
• Offer complimentary beverages and appetizers.
• Consider who will cut the ribbon. Invite your company’s top executives, managers, and team members to join the celebration.
• Prepare an opening/closing speech. This speech is done as everyone gathers around the ribbon and just before and after the ceremony.
