Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will be discussing the lessons learned in the aftermath of the 2018 school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland.
The event – Breaking Down Silos — will take place on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Polk State College – Center for Public Safety (1251 Jim Keene Blvd., inWinter Haven).
Superintendent Frederick Heid is also scheduled to speak about steps being taken to help keep schools safe.
This event is free and open to the public. However, attendees should register online to reserve a spot.
