Harrison School for the Arts is excited to co-host Grammy Award winning classical guitarist Andrew York for a 3 day residency as part of a joint project between Harrison School for the Arts and Florida Southern College.  The residency will culminate with a concert on November 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Branscomb Auditorium at FSC.

The residency will include rehearsals, coaching and a master class. The master class will be on Friday, November 11 from 3 to 5 at Harrison in the Black Box theatre, and is open to the public for free. Tickets to the concert on November 12 are $20 adults, $10 students/seniors and are available through the FSC ticket website: https://fsc.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=1409.

The first half of the concert will consist of the Harrison and FSC guitar students performing Mr. York’s guitar ensemble music with the composer conducting. This will include the premier of a new work the he has composed for Harrison and FSC. For the second half, Mr. York will perform solo.

Andrew York is one of today’s best loved recording artists for classical guitar and a performer of international stature. His compositions blend the styles of ancient eras with modern, creating music that is vital, multi-leveled and accessible.
