Burlington Stores may be known for helping kids dress their best for back-to-school, but the retailer also supports education in another significant way.

Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 to assist North Lakeland Elementary teachers with purchasing school supplies for their classrooms.

Each time Burlington opens a new store, the major off-price retailer celebrates by adopting and funding a local school in their store community. The donation is made through its partnership with, a tech-based nonprofit organization.

The donation was announced on Friday (Sept. 16) during a ribbon-cutting for the opening of a new Burlington store at 4011 U.S. Highway 98 North in Lakeland.

“We’re very excited to have been chosen for this generous gesture,” said Talley Miller, principal of North Lakeland Elementary. “Our teachers can tap into this resource and conveniently purchase classroom supplies to create engaging lessons for our students. This is such an unexpected and greatly welcomed help.”
