LAKELAND, FL (September 19, 2022) – City Manager Shawn Sherrouse has named Kris Hallstrand Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport, effective Sunday, September 18th. Hallstrand has been serving as Interim Director since March 3, 2022, when past Director Gene Conrad accepted the position of President/CEO of the Aerospace Center for Excellence.
City Manager Shawn Sherrouse said, “Kris has proven herself during the six-months she has been serving as Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport and I feel confident that we have the right person for the job going forward. Kris is very familiar with the responsibilities of the Department and has significant experience in airport operations.” He added, “I am extremely pleased that Kris accepted the promotion and as an organization, we look forward to the next chapter of the airport with Kris in the pilot seat.”
Hallstrand said, “I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead Lakeland Linder International Airport as the newly appointed Airport Director. I am honored to be the Airport Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport and I look forward to working with Airport team and Airport tenants to serve the community as an economic engine.”
As the Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport, Hallstrand will receive a 5% pay adjustment. This will provide the equivalent of an annual salary of $130,878. Kris has over 20 years of experience in airport management that includes over five years as Assistant Director and Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport. Past experience includes Airport Director at Price County Airport in Phillips, Wisconsin, Superintendent of Maintenance and Operations at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Operations Manager at Lakeland Linder International Airport. Kris also proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a C-130 Crew Chief for 14 years and is an Afghan War Veteran.
