Lakeland, FL – The Ruthvens – Central Florida’s warehouse specialists – are the title sponsors for Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center’s Mr. Central Florida for the third year in a row. This will be the tenth annual Mr. Central Florida event, which provides critically needed funds for patients at Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center.

One of the contestants running for Mr. Central Florida is The Ruthvens’ own, Jake Schner. Jake accepted a position with The Ruthvens in Sales and Leasing in June and has made an incredible addition to the team. Jake has an MBA in Business Administration from Florida Southern College and during his time there, he was the captain of the basketball team.

Mr. Central Florida contestants represent men who are involved in their community, passionate about giving and have a desire to help others. During the Mr. Central Florida competition, contestants will contend for the title by seeking votes, which are earned via donations. Each dollar donated equates to one vote and the contestant with the most votes at the end of the campaign is crowned Mr. Central Florida. This year’s event, held on Saturday, October 29, promises to be extra special, as it will be the first major event held at the new Bonnet Springs Park event center.

“It’s an honor to be a contestant in Mr. Central Florida 2022,” said Jake Schner. “Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center is an incredible not-for-profit organization, and after touring the beautiful facility and speaking with the staff, I learned how important this competition is for the center and the 140+ children who are still on the waitlist to receive care and treatment. We have a great group of contestants this year and look forward to raising enough money to make sure all who need treatment will receive it.
