SEU Partners with Flying Tigers for Master’s Degree Give-A-Way
LAKELAND, Fla. — Southeastern University has partnered with the Lakeland Flying Tigers once again to provide a master’s degree for a local teacher.
In 2019, the Flying Tigers received a Golden Bobblehead Award at the Minor League Baseball Innovators Summit for Best Community Promotion for incorporating the master’s degree with their Teacher Appreciation Night.
A total of 45 teachers throughout Polk County applied for the scholarship and the finalists are:
- Rachel Young, a sixth-grade English Language Arts teacher at Lakeland Highlands Middle School
- Yulibette Melendez-Pena, a Reading Coach at Bella Citta Elementary School
- Katherine Ramirez, a seventh- and eighth-grade Special Education-Math Teacher at Citrus Ridge Academy
- Lori Cabrera, a 12th-grade ESOL instructor at East Area Adult School
- Tabitha Kramer, a 9-12th grade Agriculture teacher at Lake Region High School
The winner will be selected by Southeastern and announced at the Flying Tigers game on June 4th beginning at 6 p.m.
