The March edition of Florida By The Numbers is now available, featuring an analysis of Florida’s latest job numbers, childhood poverty statistics, and Florida’s national ranking for number of women-owned businesses with employees.
In February 2022, Florida’s employment numbers continued on an upward trend with over 9,227,500 Floridians employed. Additionally, Florida’s number of open jobs decreased to 451,919, and consumer sentiment saw another dip – now at 68.4.
In other news, the latest childhood poverty numbers have also been released, highlighting Florida’s path toward cutting childhood poverty in half by 2030 and ensuring every child in Florida has a way out. Of the nearly 2.3 million Floridians living in poverty, 773,801 are children under 18. This is down from 2019’s previously reported 829,342 children living in poverty.
