BARTOW, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2021) – CareerSource Polk today announces its 2021 Veterans and Community Job Fair in collaboration with Polk Vision and the Central Florida Development Council. The job fair will take place Nov. 17, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse in Winter Haven, Fla., and will feature more than 100 employers in diverse fields including transportation, manufacturing, and healthcare.
“Our goal is to help the Polk community get back to work,” says Kathy Suttles, director of Business Services for CareerSource Polk. “CareerSource Polk is proud to be the bridge connecting employers with talented job seekers in Polk County.”

The 2021 Veterans and Community Job Fair is CareerSource Polk’s contribution to Paychecks for Patriots, a statewide workforce initiative which seeks to prioritize career placement for veterans during the month of November.

This job fair is also the results of a partnership between CareerSource Polk and the Countywide Higher Education Workforce Group (CHEW). Representatives from the nine colleges and technical schools in the CHEW partnership will also be sending representatives to ensure that student job seekers successfully connect with employment opportunities in the area.

“Whether you are a veteran, college student, or a Polk County resident who has just started looking for a job, the 2021 Veterans and Community Job Fair has something for you,” said Matina Wagner, coordinator of Internships and Experiential Learning at Polk State College. “We’re excited to see employers and job seekers alike find success at the job fair.”
Job seekers interested in attending are encouraged to register in Employ Florida in advance of the job fair to ensure quick entry into the event. Doors to the fair will open to the public at 10:30 a.m.; veterans will receive early entry at 9:45 a.m.
