Following the resignation of former President & CEO Cory Skeates, the Executive Committee of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce has named Chuck McDanal as Interim President & CEO. The effective date of this appointment is November 1, 2021.

“While we put into place the steps to identify and secure the next leader for the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, we are pleased to share that Chuck McDanal will serve as Interim President & CEO. Not only does he have experience serving the Lakeland Chamber as a previous Board member, but he is also a small business owner with extensive community service,” said Will Link, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Chuck’s organizational management experience and passion for our business community has him well-equipped to lead the Chamber during this period of time.”

As owner of Studio C Solutions, McDanal specializes in strategic planning, process improvement, business coaching and operational efficiencies. He has more than 25 years of experience in a range of roles from managing an IT department to working as an editor; from directing a large operation to leading an internet startup and creating a 501(c)(3) nonprofit from the ground up. McDanal also is a Certified Analytics Professional, an RRCA-certified running coach, has a certificate from the Wharton School in Business Analytics, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He serves on multiple community boards and organizations, which currently includes the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra, Lkld Live, and the Lakeland Runners Club. He is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland and Leadership Polk, and was Chair-elect of Leadership Lakeland Class 36 and Chair of Class 37. McDanal was recently named 2020 Businessman of the Year by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Chamber staff and the Board of Directors to carry out the important work we do every day on behalf of our business investors,” said McDanal.

“The time that Chuck has already spent participating in numerous Chamber Board planning retreats along with the facilitation of strategic planning sessions and Chamber staff retreats in recent years makes him uniquely qualified to step quickly into this interim role,” said Link.

Link further shared that following this appointment of Interim President & CEO, the official Search Committee will be assembled. This committee will ultimately be responsible for conducting a thorough and successful process to recruit, screen and identify the new President & CEO of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. This process will begin in the coming weeks.
