LAKELAND, FL (October 28, 2021) — The ongoing Lakeland Park Drive Connector project is halfway through completion. On November 11th, 2021, the project contractor, QGS Development will close Carpenters Way for a duration of three months between November 11, 2021 – February 10, 2022. Carpenters way will be closed from the north side of the I-4 overpass to the south side of the Wedgewood Golf and Country Club south parking lot. The closure is necessary to construct the three-way stop at Carpenters Way and the new Lakeland Park Drive Connector.
During the Carpenters Way road closure, traffic on the north side of the I-4 overpass will be detoured north-west on Carpenters Way from the Wedgewood Golf and Country Club to US Highway 98. Traffic will then detour southbound on US Highway 98 to Griffin Road where they will detour eastbound. Traffic will then detour northbound on North Florida Avenue to Carpenters Way, south of the I-4 overpass.
Traffic on the south side of the I-4 overpass will be detoured south-east on Carpenters Way and southbound on N. Florida Avenue to westbound Griffin Road. Traffic will then detour northbound on US Highway 98 from Griffin Road and detour eastbound at Carpenters Way, stopping back at the Carpenters Way road closure at the Wedgewood Golf and Country Club.
