Teachers who relocated from around the world to work in Polk County will be available for interviews during a reception Monday (Oct. 11).
This reception is hosted by TPG Cultural Exchange, a teacher exchange visitor program that recruits certified, English-speaking international teachers. TPG serves as a visa sponsor while these teachers work in America.
Polk County Public Schools has partnered with TPG to employ approximately 60 international teachers on J-1Visas. Through this partnership, the school district can fill available vacancies in classrooms throughout the county with qualified and culturally diverse educators.
The reception is not open to the public, but news media are welcome to attend. Along with interviews with teachers, representatives of TPG and PCPS will also be available for comment.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the Polk Museum of Art, 800 E. Palmetto St. in Lakeland.
RSVPs are appreciated for planning purposes. You can RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
