Lakeland, FL – The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce appreciates the Lakeland City Commission voting unanimously 7-0 to tentatively approve a reduction in the millage rate from the current 5.4644 to 5.4324 for the 2022 fiscal year.

“The sound fiscal policies of the city over many years have allowed this relief for our businesses and citizens who have suffered significantly as a result of the pandemic,” said Will Link, Chair of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.  “Even with the reduction of the property tax rate, increasing property values and enhanced investment in our community will allow the city to continue to offer the level of service that our citizens have come to expect while also providing the projected funds necessary to maintain their extraordinary bond rating.”
