LAKELAND, Fla.– After a year filled with unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, Florida Polytechnic University is getting ready to celebrate its spring commencement for two graduating classes. More than 300 hundred undergraduate and graduate students from the classes of 2020 and 2021 will receive their degrees in an in-person ceremony held outdoors. The event will follow current CDC recommendations and University policies and procedures. The University’s 2020 commencement ceremony was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
- WHAT: Florida Poly Spring 2021 Commencement
- WHEN: Sunday, May 2, 2021. Ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. Graduates arrival will be between 9-9:30 a.m.
- WHERE: Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, 2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33805
- WHO: Graduates from the classes of 2020 and 2021 will celebrate together as they receive their degrees.
The commencement speaker will be renowned Florida entrepreneur Tom E. Wallace from Tampa, Florida. He is a 40-year veteran of technology startups and managing partner at Florida Funders, a Florida-focused investor network and online investing platform based in Tampa.
