The Polk County School Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 16, regarding the current impasse in collective bargaining negotiations with the Polk Education Association (PEA).
The public hearing will begin at 5 p.m. at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road in Lakeland.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the special magistrate’s report and specific recommendations to resolve issues at impasse between the Polk County School District and the Polk Education Association.
The hearing is open to the public and will be structured to comply with CDC guidance, including social distancing and limiting the capacity of rooms. Members of the public wishing to attend in person will be asked to wear face masks or coverings.
The public hearing will also be broadcast live via the district’s YouTube channel: (youtube.com/polkcountypublicschools). They will also be broadcast live on the following channels: Comcast channel 7, Frontier channel 45, Spectrum channel 642.
