The Polk County School Board will hold a special work session at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, to discuss the school district’s superintendent search.
The school board will also hold a work session at 12:30 p.m. and a board meeting at 5 p.m.
The two work sessions and board meeting will take place at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road in Lakeland.
The work sessions and board meeting will be broadcast live via the district’s YouTube channel: (youtube.com/polkcountypublicschools). They will also be broadcast live on the following channels: Comcast channel 7, Frontier channel 45, Spectrum channel 642.

The school board is also scheduled to conduct a grievance hearing at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road in Lakeland. School board members will hear a Step 3 Grievance filed by the Polk Education Association on behalf of Matthew Pelletier, a teacher.
All meetings will be structured to comply with CDC guidance, including social distancing and limiting the capacity of rooms. Members of the public wishing to attend in person will be asked to wear face masks or coverings.
