The public is invited to the Lakeland campus of Keiser University on Thursday, April 25th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. for their second Photoshop Show. The event will include tips and tricks on how to use Photoshop, artwork presentations and a question and answer session.
The Design and Multimedia students will be making presentations along with guest speakers from the community. Students are encouraged to participate in order to build the soft skills most requested by employers in this industry.
“It is important to teach our students the technical skills they need to be successful in their field but events like this allow us to teach them equally valuable communication and presentation skills,” said Greg Williams, Department Chair for Design and Multimedia program. Williams, has been an instructor with Keiser University (KU) for over 12 years, has over 20,000 hours of classroom instruction teaching Design and Multimedia, founded The Lakeland Shooters Photography Club and is a 2007 FAPSA Teacher of the Year for Design and Communications winner.
The campus reached out to a variety of professionals who use Photoshop in different ways and in various industries to make presentations at this event. Some of the presenters are Anthony Sassano, Creative Director for Focus Magazine; Melissa Rankin, Creative Director for Sun ‘n Fun; Jackson Tajeda, Deskop Publishing Specialist at Chain Store Guides, LLC; Ashley Paul, Owner / Designer at Storm Nicole, Inc.; Jessica Kircher, Graphic Designer for Minute Man Press; Kerri Percy of Kerri Percy Design and Photography, who has also been a KU instructor for over 9 years. All of these guests are also graduates of KU so they will be able to share their experiences with the students.
