Robert T. Newsome, Sr. has been an active and involved member of the Lakeland community since moving to Lakeland in 1972 with his wife, Peggy, and their two children: Connie, who now lives in Nashville with her husband and three children, and Bob, who has worked with Newsome in insurance since graduating from FSU in 1993. He lives in Orlando with his wife and four children.

Newsome has served as a member of the City of Lakeland Planning & Zoning Board as well as on the board and President of Camp Fire USA. He also supports fundraisers for Camp Fire USA’s Kentucky Derby and the Salvation Army.
