Committees
Investment Committee
The committee meets quarterly to oversee the investment funds of the organizations and is comprised of three representatives from each of the following organizations: the Lakeland Chamber, Foundation and LEDC. The committee meets on a regular basis to oversee the investment funds of the organizations.
 

Small Business Awards
The Small Business Awards Committee will recognize on a monthly basis a member business that exemplifies outstanding business characteristics and entrepreneurial spirit. Member companies considered must be in business more than eight years, be a chamber member for 4 continuous years, have an annual income of less than $5 million, and have an outstanding reputation and community involvement.
 

Diversity Council
Continue to enhance awareness in the business community about the economic and social benefits of embracing diversity. The CommUnity Celebration will continue to be a premier community event highlighting the importance of embracing diversity. Continue to select and present 2 “Spirit of Diversity” Awards to a deserving citizen of Lakeland and a company for their efforts in building bridges among all the differences represented in our community.
 

Chairman's Advisory Council
The Chairman’s Advisory Council is made up of the Past Chairmen of the Chamber who serve in an advisory capacity to the President and Board of Directors.
 

Chamber Champions
Volunteers from Chamber member companies work through personal visits, phone calls and E-mails to mentor new member businesses throughout their first year of membership including available opportunities and escorting them to various Chamber events.
 

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is made up of the officers of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Officers review and make business and policy recommendations to the board on matters pertinent to the organization and its members.
 

Government Affairs Committee
Mission: To represent the position of the business community to governmental agencies so that policies will have a positive impact on the business atmosphere.
  • Lobby a pro-commerce priority agenda during the Legislative Sessions.
  • Engage in open discussions and make recommendations that the Chamber take action on important and timely governmental issues.
  • Monitor all levels of government and report activity to Chamber members.
  • Represent the business community and interests of Chamber members at government meetings and have a presence at all levels of government.
  • Increase focus and lobbying efforts on education issues and their impact.
